I Made it Monday: Organza Flowers

These are a long overdue comission (if you can call "Hey, I'll make some for you if you buy me some Sonic" a comission) for my mom. The cream is my favorite. I don't know if it comes through at all, but the top two layers of organza are glittery, and the button is vintage mother of pearl.

Now to get sewing for the giveaway. However, that will have to wait until crafter's back resolves itself.

Sunday Inspiration

We must make our own happiness. As President Spencer W. Kimball once said, ‘Happiness does not depend upon what happens outside of you, but on what happens inside of you. It is measured by the spirit with which you meet the problems of life.’

Order, Order

I'm feeling all sorts of out of order. It's been a busy and fun week for our family, but I feel out of order, inside and out. I need some time to create order in my home, and maybe that will help sort me out.

I'll be away from the blog, except for a pre-written Sunday inspiration, for the rest of this week and into next. Part of that time, I'll be stitching up some aprons (in a far less frantic way, this time) for a three-hundredth post give away. Be excited, friends!

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."

Back to crafting (and it hurts!)

I don't know if many people realize this, but there is a muscle in your back that you use, maybe exclusively for sewing: right in the center, just below your shoulder blades. If you don't sew or craft or do much of anything but the bare minimums for 3 months, or so, this muscle becomes weak and will hurt when you go back to it. This is especially true when you have to sew four aprons in 48 hours because you've been procrastinating for so long (um, literally months).

However, I'm back in the swing of all-night craftiness, and I did finish these pairs of matching "Mommy and Me" Aprons for Stinky's preschool silent auction. What do you think?

The crackheads were taken away, and these started blossoming over the fence next door. Coincidence? I think not.

I owe spring an apology. I'm glad you're here. I'm grateful for the gradual warmth and the early blooms. I'm grateful for spring break and a planned beach house trip in the upcoming months.

I'm resuming crafting now, after a long hiatus. I have to sew two pairs of mommy-and-me aprons for a preschool auction by Wednesday morning. I don't really want to, and I haven't even really started. The great thing is, I'll have some great scrap fabric left over. Perhaps enough for a 300th post giveaway project.

Sunday Inspiration

"What I am suggesting is that you turn from the negativism that so permeates our modern society and look for the remarkable good among those with whom you associate, that we speak of one another's virtues more than we speak of one another's faults, that optimism replace pessimism, that our faith exceed our fears."

Gordon B. Hinckley
