I made It.... today: Stinky's Quilt

I've got the top and back pieced and quilted, and all I've got left to do is the binding. I should be doing other things, a large number of other things, but I procrastinate. It will be fine. Anyway, the quilt is for when we make the transition to toddler bed for Stinky . It's flannel, but with a low-loft batting, so it should be good for all seasons.

The pattern is called Around the World and I found instructions here. It sews up quickly- the top took me two nights. I didn't realize just how much fabric the back can take up, though. I got more than I thought I needed, and ended up with enough for the back, sashing, and binding. and just a little bit of scrap, but I'll need to get more for the pillow case.

Rae, that is so fantastic! Really impressive! If you need some help with the binding there's a tutorial on Heather Bailey's blog (she's a fabric designer). Anyway, here's hoping there are no "accidents" on this lovely.

Also, I saw the Br. and Sis. Mose at the temple today. I love those two!

That is a beautiful quilt. You are so talented. I'll transition to a new bed for a quilt. What do you say?

Holy crap, you are awesome!! I'm very impressed. Oh, I've been meaning to ask you if you knit. I heard your mom was great at it and wanted to know if she passed those mad knitting skills onto you and if you'd be willing to show me how. I've been wanting to learn but books make things sound way complicated. Anywho, great quilt!!

Just curious what the bask looks like. I know it's probably just plain, but still curious. Great job! I love making quilts!
