I wish

This pretty friend found her way into the kitchen earlier this week.

I wish that every morning could begin like Monday did, with cuddles and a cheery boy saying "get over here, snugglebug!"
I wish I was more patient.
I wish I could breathe.
I wish I could sing rodents and birds into a hypnotic state so they'd clean my house.
I wish that I knew that Stinky's little life won't be totally rocked or ruined by the addition of a little brother.
I wish we could fast forward to the baby's arrival, but still savor the summer.
I wish that I was more confident in who I will be as a mother of two. For that matter, I wish I was more confident in who I am as a mother of one.
I wish that my root beer float hadn't disappeared so quickly today.

I can relate, the more patients, being confident in who I am as a mother, the savoring summer (for me next year) and wanting to fast forward till the next baby arrives.

Thanks for sharing.

I have some of the same wishes (especially the wanting to breath and wanting the baby to get here without missing the fun things we have planned do to this month). I do know, however, that Stinky's world won't be ruined by the addition of a baby brother. Rocked for a little while? Probably, but definitely not ruined. You are giving him one of he greatest gifts and within a few months he probably won't even be able to remember what life was like without the new little guy. Hang in there; you are going to be a great mother of two!

I know you are going to be a terrific mother of two. Sure it gets hard from time to time, just like with one, but you can do it. And you have a good support system to help you do it.

I think those are normal wishes for mothers. Sometimes it is so hard and life feels so HEAVY and I just hope I'm not screwing my kids up. But then I look at the world out there and I look at our world, in here, and I realize, "It's a good world in here. Not perfect by a long shot, but we've got some good stuff going on."

You've got the good stuff, too. Be kind to yourself and just keep trying--that's all anyone can ask.
