Favorite Books of 2010

I set a goal to read three books a month in 2010, and I topped it by reading 37 books this year. There was a good mix in all of the books, but these are my favorites from the year. I hope you'll find something here that you'll love, too.

Steady Days by Jamie Martin
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance by Elna Baker
Lift by Kelly Corrigan
Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Did you read anything this year that you loved? Please share!

I can't remember the books I read last year because I'm pretty lame. I do remember two books I read last week, though, and they were both good. The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan (first in a middle grade series) was one I'd gotten from the library (recommended by my 10 year-old nephew) and hadn't picked up and hadn't picked up because everything else looked better. I finally read it because I had read pretty much everything else . . . and now I have the other seven books in the series on hold. I also read Something Fresh by PG Wodehouse and think it one of the most perfect books ever written.

I'd heard of the Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance book, I'll have to find it sometime. I like books by Malcolm Gladwell, I enjoyed Outliers this year and also read his collection of essays called What the Dog Saw. I'm more into non-fiction then fiction myself.
